Local food systems play a crucial role in addressing challenges such as unhealthy diets, food insecurity, and food waste. This webinar showcases good practices operating at different levels of the food system from,  national campaigns and policy frameworks, to institutional settings, and community-based networks illustrating how a multi-level approach can support effective and lasting food system transformation.

The session features three speakers who work at complementary levels of action:

  • WRAP presents its internationally recognised Love Food Hate Waste programme, demonstrating how policy-informed, evidence-based campaigns can reduce household food waste and support circular living across regions and countries.
     
  •  FEAST Living Lab Łódź illustrates how co-design and institutional change can improve food environments for older adults, translating research into practical action at the care-home and community level.
     
  • Good Food Oxfordshire shares lessons from its community-led approach to improving food access, affordability, and healthy eating, highlighting how empowering local organisations and residents leads to more sustainable and lasting change.


Together, the speakers reflect on what works, what doesn’t, and what can be learned when communities, municipalities, and organisations collaborate to redesign local food systems. The webinar offers practical insights for municipalities, civil society organisations, researchers, and businesses interested in replicable, people-centred food system solutions.
